Mexico City

This wasn't exactly a planned trip. Had a Japan trip booked that got cancelled during COVID, got airline credit but endless trouble rebooking anywhere reasonable. Mexico City was almost chosen at random—it was literally the only place I could rebook without paying a fortune.

Turned out to be one of the best accidental decisions I've made. The city was beautiful, people incredibly friendly, museums were world-class, and the history everywhere you looked. Made it out to Teotihuacan to see the pyramids, which was surreal. Had a hot air balloon flight planned that got cancelled last minute due to strong winds, but honestly didn't matter—the food alone made the whole trip worth it.
