Toulouse

My first proper visit to France's "Pink City." Stayed right on Place du Capitole, which made exploring on foot easy. The terracotta buildings really do give the city that warm pink glow everyone talks about. The city has a friendly atmosphere, which made me feel instantaneously comfortable and relaxed. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants to explore.

Took a day trip to Carcassonne—the medieval fortress was incredible. Walking through those narrow cobblestone streets and ancient ramparts felt like stepping back in time. Spent the rest of my time wandering Toulouse itself, from the bustling markets to quiet moments along the Garonne River. Little did I know, I would be back in Toulouse just 5 months later.
